The Restoration

After a much-anticipated restoration, the historic Ashland Springs Hotel opened December 1, 2000 to the public. Originally built as the Lithia Hotel in 1925, more recent travelers will remember it as the Mark Antony. Located downtown, one block from the world-renowned Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Ashland Springs Hotel remains one of the city's beloved landmarks.

In 1998 local Ashland residents Doug and Becky Neuman purchased the former Mark Antony Hotel and started a complete basement-to parapet renovation. Their vision was to restore the hotel to its original grandeur.

Relaxed Comfort

Calming colors of apricot, melon and pear evoke an era of relaxed comfort and elegance in the seventy tastefully furnished, non-smoking guest rooms. Dramatic views through oversized windows of Grizzly Peak and the surrounding hills and town are unsurpassed in Ashland.

Eclectic custom furniture painted in the colors of Araucana eggs, lampshades made from natural cotton rag paper with chlorophyll imprints of leaves, and 19th century pressed and framed French herbs reemphasize the hotel's naturalist theme. Brown cotton ticking and pistachio linen cover the chairs and drape the windows. Crisp white linens, goose down blankets and french-style botanical toile quilts adorn the beds, exuding a sense of eased luxury.

Amenities include a lavender tea bath sachet discreetly left on guests bed pillows as a gift. "Do-not-disturb" signs have been created with a bird and a single word "Nesting" (privacy please) message. On special occasions vintage cards and holiday greetings are created especially for the guests and clipped onto the doors under lovely victorian brass hand-clips. Room rates include complimentary continental breakfast and free parking. The hotel is entirely non-smoking. Children under the age of 12 stay free with their parents.

Meeting Space 

The Grand Ballroom, adjoining a palm-filled natural light Conservatory and adjacent English Garden and courtyard, is an ideal location for celebrations, weddings and private and business functions. The romantic elegance of the ballroom space is enhanced by an exotic axminster carpet in a flower and bird motif, botanicals hand-painted on the wall above a trellised wainscot, all of which are cast in the golden glow of the hotel's original mica and cast bronze chandeliers. The courtyard's garden, complete with sundial and fountain, boasts a collection of old-fashioned roses, hollyhocks, foxgloves, columbines, dahlias and dephiniums surrounding a wrought-iron gazebo. The garden is perfect for late spring, summer and early fall events and can seat up to 80 guests.

The newly decorated Crystal Room has resurrected a version of the original Crystal Chandelier and now this exquisite six foot wide crystal laden piece crowns the newly concepted room. This great room now exudes classic beauty and charm with old gilt mirrors, English oil paintings and lovely antique chairs. The lodge feel of old has been transformed and now the room embraces you with an easy elegance and old world chic, reminiscent of the rest of the hotel.

Everyone will now enjoy this room’s lovely aesthetic…beautiful for brides, fun for cocktails and dancing, lovely and intimate for special dinners and celebrations, practical and comfortable for board meetings and conferences. This stunning room, accomodating up to 100 of your guests, will make every occasion truly memorable.

A variety of five distinctive meeting spaces totaling more than 5,000 square feet can accommodate groups of up to 200 attendees.
