What's Distinctive?
Relax at the Main Lodge
The Main Lodge is a 7000 square foot natural log building, first opened to guests in July 1995. It was built with logs harvested at the building site, using Alaskan scribe-fit construction.
Breakfast for all A Taste of Alaska guests is served in the Main Lodge dining room each morning at 8:00am. We offer fresh ground locally roasted coffee, juices, fruits and pastries, in addition to entrees such as biscuits, quiche, french toast, egg puffs, meats, yogurt and assorted cereals.
The Main Lodge features six private rooms and two family suites. The suites have up to four queen beds, and can be divided in to two temporary rooms with a moveable wall. The six private rooms each have two queen beds and a separate private entrance.
All Main Lodge accomodations feature full private baths, spectacular southern views, and are decorated with a variety of handmade quilts, antiques and Alaskan collectibles.
The Lodge provides excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing, whether from your room or while walking on the grounds. A hot tub and excercise room are also available to our guests, along with cable television, phone service and wireless internet access. No matter who you're travelling with, everyone can find an activity to enjoy at A Taste of Alaska Lodge.
In addition to serving breakfast, A Taste of Alaska Lodge has a beer and wine license. We are proud to offer locally brewed Silver Gulch beer on tap, along with a selection of wines including whites, reds and champagne (in split and full bottles).
Ask us about reserving accomodations for a special event... weddings, receptions, birthdays and holiday gatherings are welcome, depending on availability.
Welcome to the Log House
The Log House is a private two-bedroom building situated alongside a 10 acre field, with unobstructed views of the surrounding land.
A Taste of Alaska Lodge was started with the two bedroom Log House, and the split-level natural two-sided log building continues to be a favorite choice with our visitors.
The Log House features one queen bedroom and one with two twin beds. It is an ideal quiet retreat for families and couples travelling together, as well as making a lovely honeymoon destination.
In addition to the two private bedrooms, the Log House has a private hot tub, full kitchen, dining and living room, and one and a half baths. The entire house is nicely appointed with antiques, handmade quilts and collectibles.
Log House visitors can have breakfast set up in the house the night before, or join us for breakfast in the Main Lodge at 8:00am each morning. Cable television, phone service and wireless internet access are available as well.
Enjoy Privacy at The Annex
The Annex was added to A Taste of Alaska Lodge in 1994. It stands alone privately on the property, with a single queen bedroom and all the amenities.
By far the most secluded residence at the Lodge, The Annex is popular with couples and also makes an excellent solitary retreat any time of year.
The Annex features a full bath, kitchen and living areas, and an electric fireplace. It is nicely appointed with a variety of antiques and collectibles, and promises to be a perfect location for your private vacation.
Our private hot tub building is nearby and easily accessed from the Annex.
Annex visitors enjoy breakfast every morning at the Main Lodge, or can choose to have breakfast set up at the Annex the night before. Cable television, phone service and wireless internet access are also available.
