Western Winter Wonderlands

If you’re planning to hit the slopes for an upcoming meeting, you’ll have a hard time beating ski destinations in the West. According to a recent Travelzoo subscriber survey, eight of the country’s top 10 winter recreation destinations are in the Smart Meetings’ region, ranked for their abundance and quality of skiing and nonskiing activities. Thirty percent of subscribers surveyed voted Lake Tahoe, Calif. as the number one ski destination, followed directly by Breckenridge, Colo. and Park City, Utah. Whistler, British Columbia came in at fourth, Vail/Beaver Creek, Colo. at fifth and Taos, N.M. at number six. Wrapping up the list were Sun Valley, Idaho at number nine and Big Bear, Calif. at number 10.
